Admission Criteria

At Lane Frost Health and Rehabilitation Center, great care is taken to treat the patient, not just the symptoms of illness. We are conscious of providing a healing environment by including not only the patient, but the patient’s family and significant others, in the total healing process.

As different as each patient is, all patients have acute medical and nursing care needs. Most medical conditionsrequire stays averaging at least 25 days. Health care needs generally falls into one of the following categories:

• Parenteral/Enteral services
• Complicated Wounds/Negative Pressure Wound Assistance/Wound Debridement
• Chemotherapy
• Medication / IV Management
• Respiratory Therapy
• Dialysis
• IV Antibiotic Therapy
• Low Tolerance rehabilitation
• Terminal Care
• Chest tube Management
• Blood Transfusions
• Bladder Irrigation
• Trach Weaning
• IV diuretics
• IV Electorlyte Imbalance Management
• TPN/Enteral feedings
• Colostomy Management
• IV Anticoagulation Therapy
• Traction
• IV Pain Management

 

 

Diagnosis includes but are not limited to:

• Cardiovascular Disease, such as CHF, DVT
• Respiratory Disease, such as COPD, pneumonia
• Skin Disorders, such as necrotizing soft tissue, cellulitis
• Infectious Diseases, such as abscesses, ostemyelitis
• Major Multiple Trauma, fractures, head injury
• Disease of the brain/or spinal cord
• Diseases of the Nero/Muscular system
• Disease of the kidney, such as end stage renal disease
• Non-healing Pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers, surgically complicated wounds and traumatic wounds
• Malnutrition
• Unstable diabetes
• Pain Management
• Preperative optimization related to acute disease and/or marked limitation of physical activity
• Dyspnea of cardiac etiology
